Kagyu Buddhism Hebden Bridge
From the very beginning of the Buddhist tradition, the reason people have practised Buddhism has been through the desire to be happy.”
Tuesday Evening Sessions
Tuesday meditation and Buddhist study group: 8.00pm – 9.00pm
Please join us 7:30pm onwards to settle in, meet everyone and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
We begin with twenty minutes of meditation followed by a study session based on a Buddhist topic where there is plenty of opportunity for discussion and any questions that you may have.
All are welcome – whether you are new to Buddhism and meditation, or have been practising for some time. There is no need to book in advance though we’d be happy to know if you’re coming.
“Unlike many other religions, Buddhism does not see happiness as something that can be attained by cultivating a belief in an external power… Buddhism does not have that kind of approach but says the way to acquire happiness is actually by training one’s mind. This is the great distinctive characteristic of Buddhism.”
Where to find us
We have recently moved and we now meet at the following venue:
The Studio
The Birchcliffe Centre
Birchcliffe Road
Hebden Bridge
HX7 8DG
Public Transport
The Birchcliffe Centre is a 10-minute walk from Hebden Bridge Train Station, but please be advised that this involves a steep hill.
The 595 bus leaves from Hebden Bridge Train Station every 30 minutes and stops outside the Birchcliffe Centre.
The entrance to The Studio is situated at the front of the building, directly accessible for pedestrians from Birchcliffe Road, through the entrance gates, and up the stairs to the main front entrance. The entrance to The Studio is adjacent to and on the left-hand side of the main front entrance.
Parking
There is an on-site car park. Please park in the upper car park.
If driving up the hill from town, drive past the Birchcliffe Centre on your left and the neighbouring pair of houses, and you will see a left turn which takes you past the houses into the car park.
From the car park, walk towards the building down the ramped walkways, then down the steps alongside the building, to the grand front entrance. The entrance to The Studio is adjacent to and on the left-hand side of the main entrance.
